Micron's Taoyuan union plans a one-day strike on October 22 at the memory maker's operations in northern Taiwan, according to Focus Taiwan (CNA) and Tom's Hardware, which cites Reuters. The union wants a concrete proposal on this year's bonus and a transparent, permanent profit-sharing mechanism.

The October 22 strike is at Micron's smaller Taoyuan site; the larger Taichung site signed an agreement with its union on October 21.

On October 21, Micron and the union representing its Taichung workers said in a joint statement that they had signed an agreement covering several issues and had canceled a mediation session scheduled for October 22, Focus Taiwan reported. The terms were not disclosed. The Taoyuan union had called its strike in solidarity with Taichung and to press Micron at that mediation; its own dispute remains unresolved.
